ALICE M. MCDONALD

Alice Marie McDonald, age 79, of Independence, Kansas passed away on January 28, 2017 in Independence, Kansas. Alice was born on September 6, 1937 in Morrilton, Arkansas, to Raye and Roy Holloway. She attended schools in Morrilton and graduated in 1955. She married James E. McDonald on December 12, 1956 at the base chapel in Opa Locka, Florida. James was in the Marine Corps for 20 years before retiring to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Alice moved to Independence, Kansas in 2016 to be closer to family.

She is survived by two daughters Kathy Schwarz and her husband, Tom, Independence, Kansas; Debbi Austin and her husband, Ken, Copperas Cove, Texas. She has five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband James, her parents, Roy and Raye; her brothers, Calvin Earl and Charles Burl; her niece, Dana Holloway and her nephew, Kevin Majors.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Webb & Rodrick Chapel and burial will be at Halbrook Cemetery at a later date. Friends may leave online condolences at www.webbrodrickchapel.com.
