It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Camron Lee Anderson, a resident of Independence, Kansas. Camron passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2025, at the age of 19. Camron was born in Independence on July 11, 2005. He graduated from Independence High School in 2024 and was currently working at Matcor. Camron is survived by his parents, Michelle Avery and Adam Anderson; his siblings, Brandan Dixon, Endesha Flanigan, and Rodney Flanigan; his grandmother and grandfather, Gloria McCoy-Baggs and Thomas Baggs; and his biological siblings, Allannahha Lornes and Tylaisha McCoy. Camron was a funny, creative, compassionate, and bright young man. A natural athlete, he enjoyed football and baseball. He also enjoyed riding his skateboard with his brothers and friends, drawing, working towards a career in tattoo artistry, and being a fun uncle to; Kiara, Brynnlyn, Kyrie, Brecklyn, Asia, Ja’karri, and Nia. He was their hero and their best friend. There was no one like “Uncle Camron”. Camron was truly a great person who was loved by many including his biological family. Though his time here was short, Camron left an impact that will be felt forever. To honor his memory, the family asks that you carry forward his spirit—by making someone laugh, by creating something beautiful, or by loving others as fully as he did. Rest easy, our wonderful gift from God. You are deeply loved and will be missed more than words can say.
