Carolyn Louise Hare, 79, of Independence, Kansas previously of Elk City, Kansas passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, at home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2024, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Friends will have another opportunity to greet the family on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the chapel. Carolyn Louise Quigley Hare was born December 18, 1944, in Independence, Kansas to Everett and Peggy (Hopkins) Quigley. She attended and graduated from Independence, Kansas Schools. Carolyn married Raymond Kenzel Hare February 24, 1963, in Independence, Kansas. The couple made their home in Independence, Kansas where Carolyn was employed by Standard Motor Products until her retirement.
Carolyn enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting and spending time with family. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband Raymond Kenzel Hare, brother David Quigley, and two grandsons, Malachi Hare and Scott Aemisegger. Those left to cherish her memory include four children, Gary Hare and life partner Wynona Blex, Independence, KS; Mike Hare, Independence, KS; two daughters, Ruby Aemisegger and life partner Gregg Ellison, Independence, KS; Paula (Chip) Schuler, Garden City, KS; one brother, Johnny (Francis) Quigley, El Reno, OK; two sisters, Christine (Tom) Miner, Wilcox, AZ; Alice Sixkiller, Independence, KS; five grandchildren, Andrew (Kaylee) Hare, Wichita, KS; Christina Evans, Independence, KS; Adam Aemisegger, Independence, KS; Shilo ( Jonathan) Carnahan, San Tan Valley, AZ; Cody Goza, Olathe,KS; two great-grandchildren, Karson Evans, and Ember Hare.
