Debbie Jane Ryan-Hardy entered peacefully into the loving embrace of her Savior on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., following a brave journey with Lewy Body Dementia. She was 71.
Debbie lived fully, laughing far more than circumstances might have dictated. Quick with a joke and known for her infectious smile, she lifted the spirits of everyone around her. She lived with humble generosity, unreasonable joy, and practical faith—freely giving her time, talents, and love to others.
She is survived by her sons, Ryan, Christopher, and Matthew Hardy; her sisters, Sandee Stover, Pamela Mayfield, and Mona Ryan; and her grandchildren, Tiffany, Elijah, Noah, and Layla Hardy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Ann Ryan and Patrick Louis Ryan, and her daughter, Elizabeth Hardy.
A visitation will be held at First Christian Church, 319 W. Laurel Street, Independence, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on January 10, 2026, followed by a brief graveside service at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Open Arms at First Christian Church or A.W.O.L.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Webb & Rodrick Chapel.
