Delwin Cotton Sr.

Delwin K. Cotton Sr., 81, Caney, Kansas passed away on Sunday. April 28, 2019 at home.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory 306 W. Main Street, Independence, Kansas with burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery 1300 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Independence, Kansas. Friends may register on Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the chapel with the family receiving friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Memorials may be made to Rose Hill Community Baptist Church and may be left with the chapel.

Delwin was born May 18, 1937 in Colwich, Kansas to Oscar and Corniela (Koehn) Cotton. He attended Colwich Schools and enlisted in the United States Army Serving in Germany. Delwin married Pauline Dodson on November 11, 1966 in Independence, Kansas. Delwin was employed by Lafarge Corporation in Fredonia, Kansas retiring in 1994. Delwin was a member of the Rose Hill Community Baptist Church. Carson Lodge and Caney Valley Antique Power Association he enjoyed restoring Tractors, camping, traveling and working outdoors.

Delwin was preceded in death by his parents, one son Keith Allen Cotton, one granddaughter Marla Combs, and a brother in law Bill Rowe. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 52 years Pauline of the home, four children, Delwin K. ( Joanna) Cotton Jr. Bartlesville, OK; Karla Jean ( Glen Jr. ) Webb, Carthage, MO; Karen Sue Schroll ( Fiancé Larry Cronk) Caney, KS; Teresa Jo (John) Gault, Grove, OK; seven siblings, Dwaine (Kathy) Cotton, Lago Vista, TX; Darrel ( Pat) Cotton, Wichita, KS; Dale ( LaVonda) Cotton, Independence, KS; Dwight ( Kathy) Cotton, Burlington, NC; Darla Rowe, Scranton, KS; Diann ( Don) Miller, Harrisonburg, PA; Debby Carter, Emporia, KS; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
