Dollie Mae (Hannigan) Hedges passed away at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City on Thursday, April 29th at 1:00 pm.
Born the eldest child of 9, Dollie was welcomed into this world on January 28, 1934 in Cleo Springs, Oklahoma to Claude and Fern (Ring) Hannigan. Dollie attended high school in Elk City. On December 10, 1951, Dollie married Max Hedges in Arkansas. Through the years their family grew with the additions of their children, Rex, James, Max A., Debbie, Jane, and Susan. Dollie was a member of the First Christian Church in Elk City and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved reading and antiquing.
Dollie is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Fern, husband, Max, son, Rex and sister, Lavona Watson.
Her memory will live on with her sons, James L. (Carolyn) Hedges of Elk City, and Max A. (Rebecca) Hedges of Elk City, daughters, Debbie (Virgil) Imhoff of Independence, Jane Robles of Kingwood, TX, Susan (Jon) Jackson-Ervin of Skiatook, OK, and daughter-in-law Shirley Hedges of Grenola, KS, brothers, Robert (Mary) Hannigan of Hutchinson, KS, Tom (Angie) Hannigan of McCall ID, and Ron (Carrie) Hannigan of Independence, sisters, June Simmons of Vinita, OK, Claudene Stephens of Greensboro, NC, Patricia (Phillip) Watson of Havana, KS and Donna (Larry) Gillman of Independence, 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
