Dolores Martinez

Dolores Earlene Martinez, age 79, of Independence passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at Montgomery Place. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Webb & Rodrick Chapel & Crematory with Chaplain Mike Graham officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials to AWOL and memorials may be left with the Chapel.

Dolores was born on November 26, 1935, in Elk City, Kansas to Elmer and Ruby (Davidson) Henderson. Dolores has been a lifelong resident of Montgomery County living in Elk City and Independence. Dolores married Manuel Martinez in 1953 and they were later divorced.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Independence until her health kept her from attending. Dolores loved spending time with her friends, pets, family, and most dear to her was the joy of being a grandmother.

Left to honor Dolores's memory are her sons; Michael Martinez of Kansas City, MO, David (Carlanda) Martinez of Independence, KS, and Stephen (Cindy) Martinez of Las Vegas, NV, her daughters; Debra (Tom) Cornett of Independence, KS, and Linda (Dave) Morris of Independence, KS, a brother Darrell Henderson of Independence, KS, and a granddaughter Jessica Morris.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Lesley Martinez.

Webb & Rodrick Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
