Helen Mills

Helen "Margaret" Mills, 92, of Independence, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Eagle Estates in Independence, Kansas. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Visitation will be Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the chapel from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials in honor of Margaret may be made to The First Baptist Church and may be left with the chapel.
Margaret was born September 30, 1926 in Independence, Kansas to Dayton and Bess (Hudiburg) MaGee. She attended and graduated from Independence, Kansas High School. "On October 22, 1944, Margaret married John E. Mills. They had five children together, and later divorced." Margaret was employed by U.S.D 446 as a Library Clerk. Margaret is a member of The First Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Ladies group, and former Auxiliary for Mercy Hospital. "Her life was devoted to serving her Heavenly Father and she spread His love for others wherever she went. She cared for everyone she encountered in her long, full life on earth."
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles W. MaGee, Billy MaGee; and two sisters Elizabeth Towery and Naomi Chilcote. Those left to cherish her memory include three sons; John W. (Susan) Mills, South Carolina, Ronald S. (Kathy) Mills, Independence, Kansas, Robert L. (Lisa) Mills, Sycamore, Kansas; two daughters, Anita M. (Ron) Jones, Ozawkie, Kansas, Mable M. (Jim) Livergood, Ozawkie, Kansas; 15 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. To leave a special message for the family please visit www.webbrodrickchapel.com.
