James M. Cargile, 58, Independence, Kansas passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at home. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Webb & Rodrick Chapel. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Bible Holiness Church located at 699 W. Cottonwood Street, Independence, Kansas 67301.

James was born April 12, 1965, in Independence, Kansas to Joe E. and Dorothy M. (Davolt) Cargile. James attended and graduated from Independence Bible School. Following his graduation he attended Independence Community College. James married Julie Devlin in Carl Junction, Missouri and the couple later divorced. James married Helen Eytcheson in 1992 and the couple later divorced. James enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and arrowhead hunting. James loved his kids and grandkids and spending time with them.

James was preceded in death by his father, Joe E. Cargile. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Dorothy M. Cargile, three children, one son, Chance (Shaeli) Cargile, Independence, KS; two daughters, Brittany (Carlos) Zamarripa, Tulsa, OK; Bailey Cargile, Independence, KS; one sister, Cheryl Cargile, Joplin, MO; twelve grandchildren and his two companion dogs Maggie and Solo.
