L. Darbe

L. Dean Darbe, age 86, died peacefully with family on March 3, 2018 after a brief illness. Dean was born in Moline, Kansas on July 10, 1931. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Myers) for over 66 years, father of Alan (Jeanette), Debra Taylor (Wendell), Kirk (Melody), Valerie, and Kevin (Laurie). Grandfather of Dena, James, Jason, Joseph, Kathy, Michael and John. Great grandfather of 8.
A US Air Force veteran, he graduated from Kansas State University and spent his career working for Southwest Bell Telephone and Allied Telephone Company. After retirement, went on several Earthwatch projects.
A graveside funeral service will be at 10:00 AM at Altoona, Kansas Cemetery on March 10th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
