Larry Yeubanks, age 81, died Saturday, September 24, 2022, in Wichita, KS. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory 306 W. main Street, Independence, Kansas 67301. Larry was born August 1, 1941, to Ralph and Genevieve Yeubanks of rural Cherryvale. Larry married his wife of 59 years, Martha Jane Bright Yeubanks on September 28, 1963. They had three children, Terry Yeubanks, Becky Swanson, and Martha Lawson. He worked for Funk manufacturing and John Deere until he retired in 2003 and moved from Coffeyville to Derby, KS. He went to work as a paraprofessional for Derby school district. Everybody loved “Mr. Larry”. He loved working on old cars and attending car shows. He also grew to love painting for his family and friends. He loved to get outdoors and fish as well.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Genevieve Yeubanks, and his brother Blaine, and his sister Wanda all of Cherryvale. He was also preceded in death by his son Terry Yeubanks and his brothers Joe Bright, Bill Bright, Mike Bright, Jerry Bright, Guy Bright, and Jim Bright. He is survived by his wife Martha Jane Bright Yeubanks of Wichita, daughters Martha Lawson of Derby, and Becky Swanson of Coffeyville. He is also survived by son Craig Lawson of Derby, and brothers Wayne Bright of Independence and Harry Cunningham of Cherryvale, two sisters, Judy McDonald of Smithville, Mo and Patty Bustos of Orlando, FL. Grandchildren include Dakota, Jessica and Garrett Swanson of Wichita, and Alaina, Sophia and Caroline Lawson of Derby. Great grandchildren are Sawyer and Harper Swanson of Wichita. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own. We are all better for having known him. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory.
