Lucile Sparrowhawk

April 12, 1925 — May 20, 2016

Lucile (Clark) Sparrowhawk, 91, Independence, Kansas passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016 at home. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church. The family will greet visitors at the church on Friday, May 27, 2016 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Memorial contributions may be made to The First United Methodist Handicap Church Bus Fund or The First United Methodist Church Ministerial Discretion Fund. Please make checks payable to, The First United Methodist Church and note which fund you would like to have your memorial go too, memorials may be left with the Chapel.
Lucile was born April 12, 1925 to Walter and Ellen (Faidley) Clark Beal in Wakefield, Kansas. Lucile attended and graduated from Wakefield Schools. Following her schooling, Lucile married Alan R. Sparrowhawk on January 2, 1944. To this union three children were born Julie Robinson, Kathy Raub, and Bryan Sparrowhawk. Following the marriage the couple made their home in many different places including, Colorado, Salina Kansas, South Dakota, Texas, Alaska, Ohio, and Independence, Kansas and some of the places the couple lived there more than once. The couple lived in Independence, KS; from 1956-1965 and returned in 2012. Lucile is a member of The First United Methodist Church. Lucile was a Homemaker and enjoyed gardening and preserving the harvest by canning and freezing every summer. Lucile also enjoyed camping and hiking with her family especially her grandchildren. Lucille was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary in Texas. Following Alan's retirement the couple purchased a Motor Home and traveled throughout the United States for over 10 years.
Lucile was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Raymond Clark, one sister, Reva Otto, a daughter, Julie Robinson, and a great-granddaughter, Ryan Faith Pfuehler. Survivors include her husband of 72 years; Alan of the home, one daughter; Kathy Raub, Independence, Kansas; one son, Bryan Sparrowhawk, Monroe, Washington, four grandchildren, Dax and wife Helena Raub, Tina (Raub) Barger and companion Laurence, Sean and wife Kerri Pfuehler and Jodi Pfuehler and companion David, seven great-grandchildren, Brittney Barger, Samantha Barger, Zoe Raub, Alexandra Pfuehler, Zachary Pfuehler, Kaden Pfuehler, Nicholas Curley, and a dear friend and neighbor of 60 years Sue Shenk, Independence, Kansas.
