Mark S. Boyle, 57, Independence, Kansas passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, at home. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, at The First Christian Church 319 W. Laurel Street, Independence, Kansas 67301. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to FORPAZ (Friends of Riverside Park and Zoo) and may be left with the chapel. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Mark was born September 14, 1965 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Norman and Sue (Holderman) Boyle. In 1974 the family moved to Independence, Kansas where Mark graduated from Independence High School. During his high school years Mark excelled in tennis and he received a scholarship to Independence Community College where he received his associate degree. After acquiring his associate degree Mark attended Kansas University. Following his education at KU, Mark was self-employed with Boyle Construction and then went to work for Woods Lumber. While working for Woods Lumber Mark married Karla on June 14, 1997, in Independence, Kansas. Mark was employed by SCA at the time of his death.
Mark is a member of the Independence Country Club, he served on the FORPAZ Board of Directors, he enjoyed playing golf, four wheeling, playing tennis, wood working, and remodeling houses.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Norman G. Boyle. Those left to cherish his memory include: his wife Karla of the home, his mother Sue Boyle, his two children, son, Austin (Jessica) Leake, Decatur, AR; daughter, Ashley (Kelly) Hewitt, Tulsa, OK; two brothers, Kevin (Vicki) Boyle, Yates Center, KS; Robin Boyle, Fall River, KS; two grandchildren, Clark and Julie Hewitt, in-laws Benny (Lynn) Wright, Independence, KS; brothers in-law Kirk (Debbie) Wright, Independence, KS; Kyle (Kim) Wright, Kansas City, KS; many nieces, nephews and friends.
