Michael Boles

Michael Lee Boles, age 65, of Piqua, KS passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and memorials may be left at Webb Rodrick Chapel.
Michael was born August 22, 1948 in Caney, KS the son of Evart Lee and Edna M. Goines Boles, attended school and graduated from Caney High School. Michael was a 21 year U.S. Navy Veteran having served during the VietNam conflict and Desert Storm retiring in 1991. In 1993 he returned to Independence from Pennsylvania then moving to Piqua, KS to work for Russell Stovers. He had received his Bachelors Degree in History from Columbus University. He was a loving family man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
On December 18, 1969 in Topeka, KS Michael was united in marriage to Connie Darbe Boles, Mrs. Boles survives of the home also surviving are 5 sons: John Boles of Independence, KS, Adam Boles of San Diego, CA, Patrick Boles of Independence, KS, Luke Boles of St. Joseph, MO and Matthew Boles of Glen Burrie, MD as well as 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Roger Boles of Oklahoma City, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Alicia Rae Boles and a brother Bruce Boles.
