It is with heavy heart we announce the unexpected passing of Michelle Jones May 13, 2025. At the young age of 27. Michelle Jones was born May 23, 1997, in Burlington, Kansas. Michelle is survived by her husband James “KC” Jones of Cherryvale, a son Mason Jones and stepdaughter Jemma Jones of Cherryvale, two goddaughters Kaylee Harp and Lysa Meloy of Cherryvale, her mother Sara White and step-mother Mary Elizabeth Cook . She had several siblings’ sisters Delana Dowell and Samantha Boles of Cherryvale, and brothers Ethan Mantis of Parsons, Scotty VanRoyen of Sedan, and a brother-in-law Eric Jones of Cherryvale, Benjamin Dowell of Cherryvale. Grandmother Theresa Tannahill and Grandparents Jim and Sherlene Stroud. Michelle was preceded in death by her father Damon Cook, and her grandfather’s Richard Cook and LaVern Tannahill. Michelle had a lot of extended family and friends who loved her profoundly.
Michelle loved her family dearly; her children were the light of her life, and she cherished her marriage. Her and KC met as children and their love grew stronger and stronger over the years. They had a collaborative and caring relationship. It was based on mutual support and a deep love for each other. Michelle was known for her beautiful radiant smile, strong will she got from her dad, the biggest heart, selflessness and her willingness to help others. Her generosity knew no bounds. Michelle handled life’s struggles with courage, resilience, and grace, leaving a mark on everyone she encountered. She had a presence when she walked into the room you would never forget. She had a passion for driving on the back roads and exploring. She will always be known as “the dirty road queen.”
She was an amazing women, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed but a woman with her magnitude will never ever be forgotten. Memories of you are the timeless treasures of the heart. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.
