Nathaniel “Nat” Brawley Sr., 93, Moline, Kansas passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at home. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas. The family will greet visitors from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice and may be left with the chapel.
Nat was born January 12, 1930, in Granite City, Il to William A. and Eva “Shaw” Brawley. Nat attended local schools. Nat was employed as a police officer in Tucumcari, NM where he met the love of his life Corinne Morrow in a small restaurant. From the day they met the couple was inseparable and were married in Hobbs, NM. And were together for 62 years.
Nat worked hard and always supported his family, he retired and started working another job at Texoma Elementary School in Texoma, Texas where he was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor. This was his favorite job and loved all the children and they called him grandpa. After 10 years at school Nat decided to retire and move to Moline, Kansas to be closer to family.
Nat enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family and the grandchildren, He will always be remembered for his Plum Jelly.
Nat was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Gary Don Brawley, one brother, William “Bill” Brawley, one sister, Arsile Jacobs a great-granddaughter, Brandy Price, and son-in-law Jack Kitterman. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Corinne of the home, three sons, Nat Brawley Jr., Keys, Oklahoma; Steven (Tona) Brawley, Independence, Kansas; two daughters, Sheila Kitterman, So. Coffeyville, Oklahoma; Rhonda ( John) Walker, Moline, Kansas; one sister, Maxine Clark, Hugoton, Kansas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Larry Ray Brawley, Pampa, Texas; To leave a special message for the family please visit www.webbrodrickchapel.com.
