Preston L. Edwards

Preston L. Edwards Jr., 80, Independence, Kansas passed away on May 31st, 2024 in his Independence home. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. A Memorial Service open to family and friends will be held at  2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Webb & Rodrick Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

Preston was born on August 3rd, 1943 in Independence, Kansas to Preston L. Edwards Sr., and Mary Marie (Turner) Dabbs.

He lived in Independence and worked for the railroad most of his working life.

He was proceeded in death by both his parents and two brothers, William Edwards Sr., and Roger Bailey.

His first marriage was to Wanda Sweeny, who he later divorced, then married Sharon Lindsey, who he later divorced, and lastly married Sharon Hadley, who he later divorced.

Survivors include life partner, Pamela Thames, God-daughters Diamond and Charell Strickland, Aunt Dorothy Winfield, Seven Nieces and Nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. Although he did not have any children of his own, he took in and cared for many over his lifetime.
