Rita Conner

Rita L Conner, age 85, of Independence, Kansas died September 14, 2017 at Eagle Estates. Cremation has taken place. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Rita was born August 20, 1932 in Opie, Kansas to Ernest and Elizabeth (Erpelding) Dieker. Rita attended and graduated from Emporia High School. She married Jack J. Conner on September 15, 1951. The couple made their home in Leoti, Kansas for almost 20 years where they farmed.

In 1973 the couple moved to Independence, Kansas. Rita worked for Southwestern Bell untill she retired.
After their retirement the couple moved to Bernice, OK to enjoy living on Grand Lake.

After 58 years of marriage Jack Conner died in 2009. Rita moved back to Independence to the Eagle Estates in 2015.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include: one daughter Denise (Conner) Jones, Longton, Kansas: one son Kevin Conner, Maryville, Ill, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
