Robert C. Overton, affectionately known as Bob to all, passed away on August 13, 2024, in his hometown of Independence, Kansas. He was born on September 14, 1950, in the same city, to his loving parents, Dale and Louis Overton, who preceded him in death.
Bob led a fulfilling life marked by dedication and hard work. After attending and graduating from Elk City High School, he embarked on a successful career path. Bob went in business with his dad to establish Dale's Body Shop before venturing out on his own after Dale retired, establishing Overton’s Auto Body Shop. Later he worked at his brother Jerry’s Auto Body Shop in Coffeyville, KS and other shops over the years.
After retiring, Bob started training dogs, working at a few different locations before establishing Bob "O’s" Kennel, Training, and Boarding, where his passion for caring extended beyond just his family and friends, to the furry companions he looked after.
In his leisure time, Bob found solace in the simple joys of life. He had a green thumb and found immense pleasure in gardening, nurturing ferns, and tending to his koi pond. His hobbies reflected his nurturing and caring nature, traits that defined him not just as a skilled professional but as a compassionate individual.
