Robert Plummer

Robert "Bob" E. Plummer, 94, Independence, Kansas passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Montgomery Place in Independence, Kansas. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Bob was born July 30, 1922 in Metz, Missouri to Gerald E. and Ethel (Schmading) Plummer. The family moved to the Southeast Kansas area and Bob attend Cherryvale, Kansas grade school and graduated from Independence, Kansas High School. Following graduation Bob worked a couple different jobs until he was hired by Sinclair/ARCO where he employed as an Engineer. Bob retired after 40 years of service with ARCO. Bob married Donna L. Nalley in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 30, 1968. Bob was a Scout leader of the Explorer Scout Program for over 20 years.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one son Tad Plummer, and a half-brother Gaylord Plummer. Survivors include his wife of 48 years Donna of the home, one son Lew (Kirsten) Plummer, Independence, KS; one daughter, Terri (Arthur) Eckley Cherry Valley CA, four stepchildren, Ronald (Connie) Purdunn, Independence, KS; Mike (Tausha) Purdunn, Independence, KS; Christine Mayhood, Independence, KS; Toni (Steve) Debo, Independence, KS; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
