Ronald “Ronny” J. Mitchell Jr., 59, Mound Valley, Kansas passed away On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at home. Cremation has been requested and Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory are in charge of arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held June 08, at 10:00 a.m at First Baptist Church in Mound Valley.  Memorials in honor of Ronny may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mound Valley, Ks.  

Ronny was born May 3, 1965, in Benson, Minnesota to Ronald J. and Elizabeth (Wrobleski) Mitchell. At an early age, the family moved to Nebraska where Ronny attended primary school in Oconto, NE and high school at SEM High school in Sumner NE. Ronny went on to graduate from High School in Holly, Colorado. Following his education Ronny attended the School of the Ozarks where he excelled in the high jump setting school records. Following college Ronny moved back to Colorado for a brief time before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada where he worked with his father and brother installing power lines on Hoover Dam. In 1994 Ronny moved back to South-East Kansas area where he was employed at Cessna and Amazon until his health forced him to retire.

Ronny is a member of the First Baptist Church in Mound Valley, Kansas where he was active playing guitar and singing for services. Ronny enjoyed being a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings, playing disk golf, listening to Van Halen, playing his guitar, singing, spending time with family and talking to people. Ronny never met a stranger and could visit with anyone.    The family requests that anyone who has Minnesota Vikings Apparel or anything purple please feel free to wear it to the service.  We think that Ronny would absolutely love this.

Ronny was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bradley Mitchell.  Those left to cherish his memory include two brothers, Tom ( Angel) Mitchell, Redwood Falls Minnesota; Lee Mitchell, Mound Valley, Kansas; three sisters, Teresa ( Kevin) Kemnitz, Olivia, Minnesota; Lisa ( Tony) Clubine, Cherryvale, Kansas; Dawn Booth, Mound Valley, Kansas; two nieces, Brittany Vogt and life partner Kyle Forkner, Richards, Missouri;  Chaneya (Tyler) Joplin, Missouri; three nephews, Devin Mitchell, Grand Island, Nebraska; Colt (Kylie) Booth, Altamont, Kansas; Dakota ( Emily ) Booth, Liberty, Kansas; two great-nieces Lyla and Layne Forkner and very special friends, Jean Feddersen,  Lisa Fisher,   Lanny Feddersen, Lana Schroeder, Lori Nichols, all of Sumner, Nebraska; and Lanette Hogue, Tarkio, Missouri.
