Ruth Jones

Ruth Ann Deweese Jones, 90, Cherryvale, Kansas passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Cherryvale Nursing and Rehab in Cherryvale, Kansas. Graveside Services were held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas. Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be left with the chapel.
Ruth Ann was born December 24, 1928 in Elk City, Kansas to Peter L. and Nellie Ruth (Kelly) Rush. Ruth Ann attended and graduated from Elk City High School in 1946, Ruth Ann married Oliver Ray Deweese on February 7, 1948 in Neodesha, Kansas. The couple later divorced and Ruth Ann married Grayden Lee Jones. On October 10, 1995 the couple later divorced. Ruth was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone in Neodesha and Independence, Kansas from June 19, 1946 until her retirement on May 10, 1983.
Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oliver, one son Timothy Ray Deweese, and one granddaughter Shani Suzanne Bray. Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Susan Lynn Johnston, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Sally DeAnn Millis, Neodesha, Kansas; Lonnie James Deweese, Neodesha, Kansas; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
