Theta Dawn Hinson

Theta Dawn (Reid) Hinson, Age 83 passed away peacefully at home on July 6, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. The family will greet visitors from 5:00-7:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas. Memorial can be left to Harry Hynes Hospice.

 Theta was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 14, 1940, to Walter and Margurite Reid. Theta grew up in Independence, Kansas, and married John Tyrell (Terry) Hinson on April 7, 1957. They had three children Johnny, Lesa & Christy. Theta loved to go fishing and was a gardener. She was in several bowling leagues in Independence, Kansas & Round Rock, Texas. Her greatest pleasure was having her grandchildren come to stay on the farm in the summers. 

Surviving to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Lesa (Robbie)Ragsdale of Florence, Texas, Christy Hinson of Sycamore, Kansas. One brother Ronnie Reid of Independence, Kansas and one sister Charolete Reid of Neodesha, Kansas. Grandchildren: Amanda (Kelly), Wesley (Amanda), Bear John T. Hinson IV, Joshua (Samantha), Jacob (Nichol), Jessica and Cassidy (Michael). 10 Great Grandchildren and her love of Jessica Britton her caregiver. Proceeding her in death is both her parents, Walter & Margurite Reid, Brother Steven Reid, Loving husband John T. Hinson Jr. Loving son John T. Hinson III.
