Thomas Dean Mavers

September 25, 1948 — August 28, 2024

Thomas Dean Mavers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at the age of 75. Born on September 25, 1948, in Independence, Kansas. Thomas was a man whose spirit and love for family shaped his life in the most beautiful ways.

A jack of all trades, Thomas was known for his diverse skills and willingness to lend a helping hand. His versatility extended into his passion for coaching, where he nurtured young talent in baseball, softball, and basketball. His infectious laughter and warm heart made him a cherished figure in the lives of many, especially his family.

Family was at the heart of Thomas's existence. His commitment to supporting his loved ones was unparalleled. Never one to miss precious moments, he traveled to Florida even to witness his grandchildren's adventures, ensuring he was present at every event and milestone. Thomas had an innate ability to make everyone feel special—his grandchildren were the light of his life. His love shone brightly as he encouraged and celebrated each of their accomplishments, big or small.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Debbie Mavers, who journeyed through life hand-in-hand with him; his son Chad Mavers and daughter-in-law Christy, along with his daughter Gina Mavers-Godinez, grandchildren Tanner Godinez, Morgan Mavers, Jase Mavers, and Cameron Mavers, half-brother Kevin, and numerous cousins. Though he is no longer with us, the love and lessons he imparted will continue to resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father Jesse Goodman, his mother Barbara Goodman, and his brother Kurtis Goodman. Their memories will forever accompany him in peace.

The community is invited to join in celebrating Thomas's life. A viewing will be held on September 3, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Webb & Rodrick Chapel & Crematory, Independence, Kansas.
