Vicki Gress

Vicki Lynn Gress passed away at home on September 9, 2022 in Caney, KS.

Vicki was born April 12, 1951 in Independence, KS to Russell and Maxine (Overfield) Hudson.

She grew up in Independence, graduated from Independence High School in 1969 and attended Independence Community Junior College.

On June 5, 1970 Vicki was united in marriage to Fred Gress, and they celebrated 52 years of marriage this year. Vicki and Fred owned and operated Arctic Ice Company for many years. After selling Arctic Ice Company she held various jobs, but family was the most important thing in her life. After raising their three children, she helped raise three of her grandsons.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents and son, Christopher James Gress.

Survivors include her husband Fred Gress; her son, Jason (Natalie) Gress of Broken Arrow, OK; her daughter, Rebecca Gress of Parsons, KS; her daughter-in-law Destiny (Clint) Elliott of Big Cabin, OK; her grandchildren, Hudson Gress, Brooklyn Gress, Donte Gress, Taylor Gress, Tyler Gress and Addison Grommet; her brother, Randy (Teresa) Hudson of Owasso, OK; her sister, Gayle (Butch) Holum of Independence, KS and great-grandchildren Ayden Gress, Christopher Gress and Gianna Gress.

A Celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 17 at the Church of the Epiphany, Episcopal in Independence.
