Bryan grew up in the west Texas town of El Paso. Bryan married his true love and high school sweetheart, Yvette Marie Espersen, on August 7, 1972, and they were happily married for 50 years. They started their family in El Paso, Texas, and moved to La Union, New Mexico, for the farm life before moving to Chandler, Arizona, and then back to Texas; making their home in Dickinson, Texas, for over 20 years, before retiring to Independence, Kansas.

Bryan's long and respected career in the oil & gas industry spanned nearly 40 years, where he was a beloved mentor and coworker. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas for nineteen years as a gas accountant. He also worked for Green's Energy Group for nineteen years and traveled across the country as a pipeline tester, from where he retired in 2017 as the manager of the testing department.

Bryan's love for family was his priority. He was a strong, kind, caring man who opened his heart and home to those around him. Bryan loved traveling with his wife, barbecuing, mowing, trivia, watching old westerns and Christmas movies, and keeping up with current events.

He is survived by his loving wife, Yvette, and four children; James Andrew Lowry of Independence, Kansas; Margaret Irene Lowry and husband Cody; Dannielle Marie Heffner and husband Tommy; Jason Bryan Lowry and wife Yvette; all from Houston, Texas, and daughter in-law, Krystl Lowry of Coffeyville, Kansas. Ten grandchildren; Louis, August, Zackery, Madison, and husband Gabe, Payne, Cameron, Miley, Hunter, Aubrey, and Kinley. Two great-granddaughters, Izabel and Elise. He is also survived by his sister Linda Begley and husband Kevin of Texas; one brother-in-law Chuck Espersen and wife Ann of Florida; and two sisters-in-law, Carol Smith of Colorado and Kathy Lowry of West Virginia. He also leaves behind a beloved uncle J Bryan Lowry, and aunts, Jodi Early and Bonnie Lowry of Texas. Nieces and nephews include Paul, Elizabeth, Tiffany, Natalie, Catherine, Robert, Mike, Jennifer, Marlissa, Monica, Lee, Cheryl, George, Linda, Christina, and Terry. Numerous cousins, other family members, and friends.

Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, James E and Irene (Howell) Lowry, stepmother, Jimmie Ruth Lowry, and mother-in-law, Jessica Espersen.
